How do fake Pak Games APK files spread?
Fake Pak Games APK files spread wherever people look for the app outside an app store. Because Pak Games is not on Google Play, many players install it from a file, and scammers take advantage of that.
The most common routes are:
- WhatsApp and Telegram forwards. A file named “Pak Games new version” or “Pak Games VIP” is shared in groups, often with a message about a bonus.
- Adverts and social posts. Facebook, TikTok and YouTube posts link to download pages that are not run by the operator.
- Look-alike websites. Sites with names close to the real one, often with extra words such as “pro”, “mod”, “vip” or “download”.
- “Hack” and “predictor” offers. Signal sellers push their own APKs that claim to predict results. They can’t, as our post on why signal apps don’t work explains.
9 warning signs of a fake Pak Games APK
One sign is enough to stop. Several together almost always mean a fake.
- It came as a forwarded file. The operator doesn’t need strangers in a WhatsApp group to share its app.
- You found it through an advert or a look-alike site. Check the web address letter by letter before you download anything.
- It promises extras. “Unlimited bonus”, “hack”, “mod”, “VIP predictor” or “sure-shot signals” are bait. No app on your phone can change results decided on the operator’s servers.
- It asks for dangerous permissions. Accessibility, device admin, reading SMS, displaying over other apps, or installing other apps. See the table below.
- It asks for your wallet PIN, or for a code from an SMS you didn’t request. To log in, the real app asks for your mobile number and password. An app that wants your wallet PIN typed into its own screen is a serious warning sign.
- The name or icon is slightly wrong. Extra words, odd spelling or a blurry logo are warning signs. So is an app that hides its icon after you install it.
- Play Protect flags it as harmful. Android shows a general warning for any app from outside Google Play. A specific warning that the app is harmful is different. Don’t install that file.
- It tells you to turn off Play Protect. A genuine app has no reason to ask you to switch off your phone’s malware checks.
- It asks you to pay someone to “activate” it. Any request to send money to a personal JazzCash or EasyPaisa number before the app will work is a scam.
Which permissions should you refuse?
Some Android permissions give an app almost full control of your phone. A gaming app has no reason to need them. The exact permissions the real Pak Games app asks for are not confirmed, so judge by what each permission allows.
| Permission | What it lets an app do | Does a gaming app need it? |
|---|---|---|
| Accessibility | Read everything on your screen and tap buttons for you, including in your wallet app | No |
| Device admin | Stop you from uninstalling it, lock the screen or erase the phone | No |
| Read SMS | Read your OTPs, including wallet and bank codes | No. You can type OTPs yourself |
| Display over other apps | Draw a fake login screen on top of your real wallet or banking app | No |
| Install unknown apps (granted to the game itself) | Download and install more apps in the background | Treat with suspicion. Refuse, and update by downloading again from the official link |
| Contacts and call logs | Copy your contacts, often to spam or scam them | No |
Note the difference in that fifth row. To install any APK, you allow Install unknown apps for Chrome or your file manager, once. That is normal. A game asking for the same power for itself is not.
How to check what you installed
You can check your phone in a few minutes. Menu names vary a little between phone brands, so use the search bar at the top of Settings if you can’t find something.
- Open Settings, tap Apps, find the app and tap Permissions. Switch off anything it doesn’t need.
- Search Settings for Accessibility. Look under installed or downloaded apps. Only apps you trust, such as a screen reader you chose, should be switched on.
- Search Settings for Device admin apps. Switch off anything you don’t recognise.
- Search Settings for Install unknown apps. Only your browser or file manager should be allowed, and only if you still need it.
- Open the Play Store, tap your profile picture and open Play Protect. It checks apps from other sources and tells you if it found anything harmful.
- Look through your full app list for duplicates, apps with blank names, or apps you don’t remember installing.
The Google Android help page on app permissions shows these steps with pictures.
What to do if you installed a fake APK
Move quickly. The aim is to cut the app off, remove it, and then secure your accounts.
- Disconnect. Turn off mobile data and Wi-Fi so the app can’t send anything more.
- Remove its special access. Switch the app off in Accessibility and Device admin apps.
- Uninstall it. Go to Settings, then Apps, tap the app and tap Uninstall.
- Change your passwords. Start with your Pak Games password, using the real app. Then change your email and Google account passwords. If you can, do this from a different phone you trust.
- Check your wallet. Open your JazzCash or EasyPaisa app and look for payments or logins you don’t recognise. Change your PIN.
- Call your wallet provider. Use the help or complaint option inside its official app, or the helpline listed there, and report any suspicious activity. Never use a number sent to you in a message.
- If it won’t uninstall, factory reset. Back up your photos and contacts first. Google warns that a factory reset erases all data on the phone, and that you need your Google account details to sign in again afterwards.

How to download more safely
Most fake installs can be avoided with a few habits:
- Download only through the operator’s own link, and follow our safe download guide.
- Never install a file forwarded on WhatsApp or Telegram, even from a friend.
- Keep Play Protect switched on.
- Refuse the permissions in the table above, whatever reason the app gives.
- If the real APK won’t install, use our APK not installing fixes instead of hunting for another file.
